Bex-Day

The fashion photographer known as Bex Day has been a massive inspiration throughout all the time I've been doing photography. As I have always been interested in fashion photography and playing around with it, the work Bex Day has done is changing how we display fashion in magazines and making images attractive. Day's work is ethereal and dreamy, allowing the viewer to explore within each image. 

I first saw Day's work in Harpers Biaazre, where she displayed floral dreamy work that caught your attention straight away, and I have been following the same imagery since then. Taking her dream-like effects into my own work, I believe, has changed my whole way of shooting as I have moved further and further away from clean sets and polished editing since. 

Day's website was a big inspiration when I created my own. She kept it very professional whilst still having elements of herself in it to show viewers a bit of her personality. This is what makes her work so high-quality: her ability to capture herself within her work from behind the camera. When deciding the style of photography I wanted to focus on, Day's work was always there as a reminder for me as to why I started photography in the first place - to create images that I was proud of, that caught people's eyes and pulled them in with details that shouldn't be overlooked.
